Hosted by Macclesfield Borough Council, the seventh Built in Quality Awards took place on 18 April at Cranage Hall and some of Cheshire’s most impressive developments were honoured for their excellence in both design and construction This year’s ceremony, put together with the co-operation of the eight Cheshire district and unitary councils, attracted over 150 guests including civic dignitaries, the contractors and various representatives from the participating local authorities. The highlight of the evening was the award of the 72 “Built in Quality Award” certificates to the successful contractors. The certificates were presented to the winners by the relevant Building Control Manager from each council. Overall category winners from three categories: domestic, volume housing and commercial were each awarded an engraved cut glass crystal trophy.
 
The Cheshire District of Building Control Offices consists of Chester, Warrington, East & South Cheshire, Ellesmere Port and Neston, Halton and Vale Royal.
